Musical Interlude #3

More upbeat than the last one... another time where the "like" button needs some !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shoes!

I finally got a paycheck last week, so this weekend I decided to treat myself to a shoe shopping spree. As my paycheck is not exactly hefty, I headed to 'shoe mecca' for women without sugar daddies: DSW. I ended up talking myself out of buying 2 pairs and settled for just one pair of wedges, but as I can't get the other out of my head, I might go back and get it this coming weekend. Wedges are great because if you are on the shorter side, like me, you can get some height while still feeling like you are wearing sandals. Bright colors are great for clothing and shoes this spring, but neutral colors will make your legs look longer, so I strayed away from the magenta and turquoise.  Rounded toes have replaced pointe this season and the bootie-style wedge was everywhere I looked.  Here are the two I was deciding between; I took home the gold and tan wedges on the right and am wearing them right now.

Check out DSW if you haven't done so lately. They just got soooo many cute shoes in for the warm weather, so plan on spending some time browsing. Good luck exercising self-restraint!

Musical Interlude #2

I admit it. Spring has gotten to me. If you are feeling a little mushy, this song might make you crave ice cream, Kate and Leo... but hey, worse things have happened! There isn't a video, but oh well. I'd say more but I'm too busy singing in my shower.

Bra Sizes

I don't know if I grew or what, but this post is inspired by the fact that my bra has been killing me today because it seems to be too small.  Having your correct bra size will (as I am remembering) make you more comfortable and your chest look better (no spillage, etc).  I've already published a guide to finding your size for bras, so I won't waste the space here... but follow the link to check it out.

Colors!

In case you haven't been aware of your surroundings lately, COLOR is what it is all about this spring. As I mentioned in an earlier post, this drastic change from the muted trends of past springs does not mean you need to throw out all your old things and spend a fortune.

I already talked about adding bright colored pantyhose or a tying a light scarf around your neck to spice up any outfit and I stand by my recommendation. Shoes and fun accessories like multicolored bracelets can also adjust the outfits you already own for the new season.

Be bold and try mixing and matching bright colors and prints, even fuchsia and turquoise or green are encouraged. From everything I've seen and read so far, it appears that the rule book has been tossed aside for this Spring, so have fun and be creative with your clothes!

I made a squidoo page!

Hey y'all,

Just wanted to let you know that there is now a "lens" on squidoo.com dedicated to the slimming swimwear topic I talked about a few days ago. Check it out if you are interested!

I was just scrolling through LuLu's website and came across this in the "little black dress" section. It costs about $36.00 and I'm in love. From the single strap to the zipper in the back, this dress is all attitude. I always like a dress that is simple enough to let your body's curves do the talking; this dress shows off your shape but adds an exclamation mark and a 'bad girl' stare from across the room...

...or maybe I am just thinking about the model.

Can Slimming Swimwear Help?

Slimming Swimwear for Every Woman’s Body

When you’re going to the pool or the beach you obviously want to look your best. However, not just any bathing suit will enhance your curves and hide your problem areas. That’s where slimming swimwear comes in— bathing suits that trim you down are the newest way to look and feel great when you go to the pool, the beach or even just for sunbathing in your back yard!

Enhance Your Curves: Slimming swimwear is great for women of all sizes. Slimming swimwear can help enhance your curves by using fabric that both supports and increases body firmness and providing underwire bra coverage, no matter what size you are.

Slim Your Waist: Slimming swimwear is generally constructed with only high-quality fabrics that can give women the support and slimming look they need. To get the best look and a good, firm fit, search for bathing suits that are made of nylon or spandex.

Shape Your Body: Slimming bathing suits can help you look your best. Though a one-piece bathing suit is best for increased tummy coverage, a two-piece suit can still provide your desired body enhancement with a bottom piece that slims your behind and a top that provides maximum support.

Get a Custom Fit: Choosing a bathing suit in a “small,” “medium” and “large” size isn’t quite the ideal match for most women. Be sure that you can select your suit according to your cup size. Choosing your exact cup size will help to give you the best possible fit in your bathing suit, whether you are an A or a DD.
Be Confident in Your Swimwear

Many people say that confidence is the most attractive quality that anyone can have. Feeling good in your bathing suit is more important than how you look. Slimming swimwear not only enhances your natural curves, it also helps to enhance your mood and level of self-confidence. Whether you’re in a one-piece or a two-piece, slimming swimwear can tuck in your problem areas and enhance your body’s favorite features. Show off your own unique style by choosing from a great variety of colors and patterns. Be sure to feel confident when you are at the beach or tanning by the pool by purchasing the slimming bathing suit that is perfect for you, today.

How to Wear Pantyhose for Spring

Pantyhose may seem like a counter-intuitive article of clothing to wear in the spring, but rest assured, they can look just as stylish under skirts and shorts as they do in the winter. It only takes a little strategic accessorizing with some of your other clothes.
Pantyhose stretch and mold to one's body shape because, typically, they are made of nylon. Despite their sheer quality and thinness, pantyhose are actually quite effective in retaining heat. This is why many women choose to wear them in the winter under dresses, skirts and shorts, as well as with boots and heels; pantyhose are able to provide them with flexibility under bulky winter clothes while remaining warm.

Many women think they have to lock up and stow away their pantyhose when spring arrives, but this is not the case. Pantyhose look good as well as warming your legs! Though most women own multiple pairs of nude-colored pantyhose, they can actually come in several colors that coordinate with various outfits as a stylish accessory. Accentuate one's legs upon the blooming of flowers by wearing patterned styles under simple skirts or shorts.

Pantyhose are still mandatory in some corporate office settings, so if you’re a modern working woman, you never want to be without them. Nylon has been replaced with new, different fabrics and innovations that encourage better breath-ability. Why not keep the classic element that has been so essential to many women's wardrobes over the years? Don’t let spring get in the way of strutting your legs in pantyhose!

Musical Interlude #1

If you haven't heard this song yet, you are in for a treat! I loooovvveeeeeeee this song! I know this has nothing to do with fashion, but I think I am entitled to digress from time to time (especially for something like this).

Enjoy!

Different Bra Styles

Bras can help women change their look to best fit their clothing. Women can pick a bra from a variety of different styles based on the look they want and still get the support they need. For different shirts, dresses and tank tops, different bras should be worn. Look at the bra types below and see which will probably work best for your specific outfit today.

Adhesive Bra: Best for those with smaller breasts, adhesive bras stick to the nipples, but do not provide much coverage. These bras do not have straps or clasps, and should be worn only when other support is unnecessary.

Front Closure Bra: Front closure bras are popular for those who are wearing tight-fitting shirts and do not want the bra closure to be visible. The bra lies almost completely flat in the back because the hook and eye is located on the front between the cups.

Sports Bra: Sports bras are ideal for working out. These bras fit tightly to the chest and generally do not enhance cleavage or size.

Plunge Bra: The plunge bra is ideal for those wearing low-cut shirts or dresses. This type of bra accentuates the breasts and plunges between them, thus allowing the bra to remain invisible even when wearing a low neck-line. Plunge bras are best for those women who want to emphasize their breasts when wearing a low neck-line.

Push-up Bra: One of the most popular types of bras, the push-up bra is lifts the breasts and places them close together to enhance cleavage. Most push-up bras contain padding to lift up the breasts for enhanced sex appeal.

T-shirt Bra: The t-shirt bra is designed without any raised seams so that the bra fits tightly against the body .Seamless and comfortable, t-shirt bras are created to go under t-shirts or similar materials.

The bras listed above are just a few types to choose from. Some more types of bras are the racer back bra, the built-in bra, the shelf bra, the bandeau bra as well as others. Instead of thinking of the bra as a necessity, realize that the right bra can really make the outfit and have some fun picking the best one for the occasion.
